HOW TO NETBOOT A IMAC INSTALL
Is there any command I can try to set the boot device to CD-ROM drive so I can install OS 9 or X on it? I have looked all over this forum, tried just about everything that I saw. When I press the option button when it boots all it will catch is the hard drive, which does not have a working OS on it.

HOW TO NETBOOT A IMAC WINDOWS
I do not have an external CD or DVD drive nor do I have the money and all of my other computers are PCs running various versions of Windows(not sure if a G3 will netboot from a Windows platform). I'm trying to put any Mac operating system on this machine and it refuses to boot from the CD-ROM drive. I have a mac OS 9.2 installation disc and an OS X 10.1 installation disc (Both are CD's, not DVD's). If you're using Boot Camp to start up from Microsoft Windows, set Startup Disk preferences to start up from macOS instead. Then shut down or restart and try again.I need a help with an imac G3 (when i boot it and press command, o, f, and option it says it's a powermac2).If you're using a keyboard made for a PC, such as a keyboard with a Windows logo, try a keyboard made for Mac. Or use your built-in keyboard or a wired keyboard. If you're using a wireless keyboard, plug it into your Mac, if possible. Some keyboards have a light that flashes briefly at startup, indicating that the keyboard is recognised and ready for use. You may need to wait a few seconds before pressing the keys to give your Mac time to recognise the keyboard as it starts up. Then press and hold the keys as your Mac starts up. Then press the power button to turn on your Mac.
We moved the resulting imac.nbi file to the /Library/Netboot folder on the server where netboot images reside.
macOS Recovery installs different versions of macOS, depending on the key combination you use. If your Mac is using a firmware password, you'll be prompted to enter the password. Or use Option-Command-R or Shift-Option-Command-R to start up from macOS Recovery over the internet.
To use any of these key combinations, press and hold the keys immediately after pressing the power button to turn on your Mac, or after your Mac begins to restart.
